A Passion to Serve ...

 

In early 2003 I began a journey toward a "Life Changing Job Search". I had worked with over a dozen agencies and had no
job continuity. I am now a consultant providing outsourced IT support (and relief) to staff and management of corporate 
entities falling in the 5-200 desktop range for 17 years and I love what I do. I have decided not to look for a "job". Average
small to medium business normally should not require full time IT staff but do require help in time of need. I fill the gap!

The bottom line is that I come to you with the backing of a HUGE national staffing agency, but I now have authority and
absolute discretion on setting rates, time spent on site and so, reducing IT expenses by eliminating the middle man (the
agency sales person). This ability to talk directly with the person doing the work, a person who is rewarded by SAVING
money, improves the bottom-line cost of doing business. Full or part time or scheduled site visits. My job is understanding
your core business and the resulting IT challenges, defining and presenting ‘cost appropriate’ solutions while strictly 
abiding by industry best practices

No Co-Employment Risks ...

Our "Professional Employment Organization" (PEO) works like a staffing agency. Co-Op members seek their own
assignments and so, the PEO needs no sales force and thus has a much lower overhead cost. Like a so-called full
service agent, they mitigate the co-employment risks associated with hiring contract workers throughout the USA. 


They employ us and issues IRS Form W-2. They withhold and pay all applicable payroll taxes and income taxes. In addition
our PEO covers us for Workers Compensation and Unemployment Insurance, plus General Liability Insurance and Errors &
Omissions Insurance up to $5 million aggregate. They also provide continuity of employment, continuity of health insurance
and the very best retirement plan available to any employee in any company in the United States of America. 

We will only provide consulting services to companies that accept the (1) P.A.C.E. [aka Professional
Association of Contract Employees
] or (2) Smart Source, Inc. as an approved vendor or subcontractor.

"IT RESOURCE MANAGER"

 

This is at the managerial level. At this level, incumbents have technical expertise in a wide range of information technology areas and oversight of the resources of a small agency-wide IT campus. Incumbents have supervisory responsibilities over a small professional IT staff. Classification to this level is based on the number and level of full-time professional staff, Hay factoring considerations, and diversity of IT activities managed.

 

MANAGEMENT SKILLS

 

This person has a high degree of independence in the design, implementation, and support of integrated applications with continuing oversight, technical guidance on long-range and capacity planning, consultation, and leadership to agency personnel on a broad range of IT issues and resolution of conflicting goals with various users. Has skills working with clients defining and interpreting IT needs and translating them into workable solutions. Hires IT staff, assigns work, and evaluates performance; develops and monitors a program budget; negotiates contracts for services.

 

EXAMPLES OF DAILY WORK

 

Participates in cost/benefit analysis, reviews system growth rates and capacity requirements.

Reviews and evaluates programming operations and training needs. Also will develop procedures and policies governing IT operations; will oversees and conducts analyses for efficiency evaluation of IT processing equipment existing and proposed IT applications to optimize network utilization and consult with management and vendors about future IT direction and development
