Dear IT Manager,

Hi, my name is Jeffrey Bottoms, a self employed IT consultant. My purpose here is to work myself out of a job, and it will be music to my ears when I am told I am no longer needed. Outcomes/Opportunities I provide you in this Role

In the last two decades I have worked for IBM, Hewlett Packard and other high visibility organizations for government and the corporate world. I bring to you an extensive set of codified methodologies, documentation and best practice standards (read: “a template for consistency”). I have the experience and have wisdom in my field, I know what does and does not work (lots of time and some really hard knocks). I also bring you knowledge: I am up to date in my field of interest and am always devouring information on what is new looking for trends and trouble spots. Finally, I am a “Non-Employee” and so, work from an outsider’s perspective. I also have cultivated a group of people that can fill in when a need arises to bring on some more help. All of these folks have all agreed to work using the same methods and best practices so you need not worry about continuity during an illness or absence. (All are PACE people!)

I ask you provide the following to gain the results I'll deliver (Resources):

I will provide my own desktop or laptop but will need firewall access to the internet for the purpose of sending email, FTP transfers, posting to Usenet (my server) and occasionally secure Telnet and FTP to access vendors. Access to a dedicated workspace is largely dependant on the level of service I provide. I am very flexible and can work part time, full time or just about anywhere in between.
